The tennis club was formed at the home of Mr. C. Jones in November 1927 as North Deniliquin (or Deniliquin North) wanted a recreation reserve near Morran’s Bridge as well as a new school.
Mayor E. T. Matthews opened the courts on November 7, 1928, slightly less than a year after the formation of the club.
The President of the North Deniliquin Tennis Club in 1929 was Mr. Jas. Evans.
The club was re-formed in April 1933 with Mr. P. Hanell the new President of the organization and the Independent reported that the club had two courts in operation.
The club was re-formed again in 1941 with Mr George Lee elected President at a meeting in the Masonic Hall.
There were five courts in operation by 1946 and the tournament Doubles winners were K. Gunn and Miss N. Peers as they had defeated F. Curry and Mrs. McKirdy 6-4.
The last tournament for 1946 saw R. Southby and Mrs Simpson defeat C. Collins and Miss Morris 6-0.
The total number of courts expanded to eight over time and North Deniliquin eventually got their school wish with Deniliquin North Public School being built in the 1960’s with the school just 150m away from the edge of the courts allowing students the opportunity to play many games of tennis there over five decades.

The Club fought to stay alive in the early 21st century but as the second decade was edging closer to an end, Edward River Council had new plans for the site and the courts were demolished.

The courts shown shortly before demolition had taken place.

A satellite image of the town was taken in 2020 showing that the courts are gone and now the North Tennis Courts live on in the history books.
