In the last few months of 2024, we said that the old Deniliquin R.S.S.I.L.A and Community Centre building was in a death spiral, that spiral has all but been completed.

As you can see the three buildings that stood next to the old Burchfield’s building is now gone and probably for the first time in decades, you can see the entire side of the old Burchfield building.

All that remains are large piles of bricks and concrete before eventually it is all carted away and memories of what existed there fades away.
The demolition of the three buildings opens up approximately 39m of End Street frontage and 50m of space behind that frontage, an impressive amount of space in Deniliquin in an area that is now more alive than dead.
Now the question is, what will go there? More buildings, an extension of green space? We’ll be back to tell you soon.
